Signs of spring

This is not the post I had in mind today. I think it was John Lennon who said that real life is what happens when you're busy making other plans. I can attest to that. None of the drawings that I wanted to post are happening the way I want them to. I think I need to lighten up and stop trying so hard.

So to switch my brain off, I noted the signs of spring that I saw on my way home today and then drew them as quickly as I could. But ture to theme, I chose a new, untried pen. It takes forever to dry, smears when I try to erase the pencil, and is not waterproof with the brushpens.

On the up side --- 4 signs of spring! Spring is most welcome this year. Now, back to the drawing board.

Wonderful welcome-in-spring drawing! Unbelievably, even here spring finally arrived and it makes me want to do the most kitschiest sketches :)
I like that you did catkins (if that's their name)! I love them, they're so fluffy. When I was a kid, I always painted "eyes" onto them and played that they were my little guinea pigs. :D

Yes, very nice sketches that lift our spirits .... except for the ladybugs. We have tons of them in the house and I just keep vacuuming them up. I can't wait for them to move outside where they belong. If they're near a door, I pick them up and put them outside, otherwise I suck them up! lol nancy

I enjoyed your sketches and I am glad you shared them. Art can certainly be frustrating at times. As long as we keep going back to that drawing board.

Well, you'll know not to take that pen next time, and you got some great sketches out of it, so I think it was time well spent!

Wonderful drawings! When we come up with something unintended it can still be delightful.
