For most of my adult life, I used an iron that I had picked up second hand at a yard sale. It was a perfectly good iron - solid, heavy, with a shiny surface, and a practical black plastic body. But eventually its performance began to decline. The steam holes began to fill in with lime and scale from our hard water. It began to spit and heat unevenly and erratically. I bought linen and cotton clothes, hoping that no one would notice that I was no longer actually ironing anything. I was instead relying on body heat or the steam from the shower to release the wrinkles. It was only marginally effective at best. So I broke down, and went shopping for a new iron. And what a surprise! Modern day irons were light to hold, quick to heat up, the shapes and lines of them were lovely, and look at that color! Now that's an iron designed to make ironing far less of a tedious chore. This iron dances over the fabric and swishes steam out gently and softly, chasing away the wrinkles. It's a treat to use it now, and also a treat to be more well groomed. And while I never drew my old iron, I bet this one was way more fun to draw and paint.

Great drawing! Hmmm... I, too, have my old faithful iron (ahem, about 30 years old) that I am hanging on to because the new irons can't POSSIBLY be as good. Maybe I'm wrong ....
Nicely done! Love the variety of "things hot" that everyone comes up with. Really like the richness of your two food drawings, too.
Very nice... Love your blog...

LOVE that drawing! So simple and clean, very nice indeed.
Love this iron! Isn't it great to get a new thing after using the old thing for so long? I need a new one myself now that I think of it....
I couldn't draw my iron for this challenge because it hasn't been hot in ages! I'm quite impressed with how well you keep up with the EDM challenges. I see a dedication here that is great. BTW, I like your fresh and bright style.
A colorful iron indeed. Really like the clean lines. I also have an old one and it is now definitely time for me to get a new one.
Hey there, I've been on the fence for a while about picking up a graphics pad. I'm terrible at putting pencil to paper, but think that one of these could make me a better artist since I can visualize it and undoing something in photoshop is easier than undoing - say, pen. Your art isn't bad, your posts are encouraging and inspiring, thanks! :)
My sister would love that iron....it's pink! She has turned into a pink freak and if she's looking to buy anything, it has to be pink. Lovely job on the iron, Lynn ~ :)
wow, looks nice! I also see (always seeing faces..) a face looking to the left. eyebrows, eye, nose and mouth!! lovely.
Great sketch and beautiful color!
