The irises are blooming in my yard right now. I planted these many years ago, and they are the plants that made me believe I could be a gardener. They are hardy and cheerful and low-maintenance. When they bloom, I know that summer is not far away no matter how cool and rainy the weather is. In fact, they are one flower that often looks better in cloudy weather with raindrops glistening on their petals.

I like these, Cordelia!. I also have various irises in my garden and the ones I look forward to the most are huge white bearded iris. They have a lemony vanilla scent which is quite unlike any other flowers.
They are very beautiful plants/flowers and very unique too. That's a very true depicting watercolor of them. Very pretty. I love painting too, mainly flowers. :)
Happy Creative Every day

See my most recent CED2010 Post!
Lovely! This is my favorite sketch of flowers of yours so far!
Lovely painting. I share your love of irises. My daughter and I have been watching the gradual emergence of an iris called 'Samuri Warrior'. It was really spectacular. Watching the process from emerging bud to final flowering is so exciting.
Beautiful painting Lynn - it would make a lovely greeting card!
I love these!
And your painting is making my heart sing! I especially like the purple one - something in the brush strokes, I guess.
These look wonderful! I love the colors you chose and you did a great job of depictiing the flowers. Very nice.
Beautiful! They look so clean and fresh and cheerful!!
Gorgeous!!! I do love irises and I should plant some in our garden, they make such good subjects to paint too.
